We are very pleased to share that our book Four Billion Years and Counting: Canada's Geological Heritage, co-published by the Canadian Federation of Earth Sciences and Nimbus Publishing, has won the Association of Earth Science Editors' 2015 Award for Outstanding Publication in the Print category. The announcement was made at the association's 49th annual meeting, held last fall in Lawrence, Kansas. This award recognizes a recently published earth science publication - book, map, journal, or other individual publication - that demonstrates outstanding editing, design, illustration, writing, effectiveness of production cost, and overall effectiveness in achieving its publication goal.

 

This is a prestigious and well-deserved award for which there was very stiff competition from other high quality publications. It is a credit to the editors and contributors who worked long and hard to complete the project, and to CFES and its member societies who supported the project in many tangible ways. We are very proud of the recognition that this award brings and hope that you will share it with your society members who can also be justifiably proud of their involvement in this project.
